(a) & (b): The Central Government employees are rendered surplus as a result
of administrative and financial reforms, transfer of an activity to a State Govt.,
Public Sector Undertaking or studies of work measurement, abolition or winding up
of an organization of the Central Government etc. Surplus Cell of Department of
Personnel and Training makes efforts to redeploy surplus staff keeping in view their
substantive grade pay, suitability etc. in the same state in which they were working
at the time of being declared surplus on availability of suitable vacancies.
Though normally the effort is made to redeploy the low paid employees belonging to
Grade âCâ (upto Grade Pay of Rs.4200/-) in the same State in which they are working
at the time of being declared surplus, it, however, may be necessary to redeploy
them in other States if no suitable vacancies are reported to the Surplus Cell at
the relevant time.
