Question : Status of National Highway No. 222

(a) the present status of National Highway No. 222 in the country;

(b) the date on which work started on the said highway along with the time schedule fixed for completion of the said work;

(c) whether the work on the said NH is being delayed; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) National Highway No. 222 starts from Kalyan in the State of Maharashtra and terminates at Nirmal in the State of Telangana and is having a total length of 670 km. Entire length of NH-222 is identified for development under National Highways Development Programme [NHDP] Phase-IV. Development works in a length aggregating 368 km in the State of Maharashtra and Telangana have been awarded and started in the 2014-15 and these works are targeted for completion in the year 2017. Balance works for development of remaining 302 km length in the State of Maharashtra are envisaged for award in the year 2016-17 with target for completion in the year 2018-19.
