Question : Projects under PMKSY

(a) the projects sanctioned and the financial outlay under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojna (PMKSY);

(b) the details of the number of Mega and Mini Food Parks, Cold Chain Storage Systems and Food Testing Laboratories established under the PMKSY in the States of Bihar, Rajasthan, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra since the inception of the Yojna, district-wise;

(c) whether there is an increase in the conservation and processing capacity of the agricultural produce in the above said States due to the projects undertaken under PMKSY in 2021-22;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the number of direct and indirect jobs generated due to the projects undertaken thereunder in the above said States in 2021-22?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO THE PARTS (a) TO (e) OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 265 FOR ANSWER ON 22ND MARCH, 2022 REGARDING “PROJECTS UNDER PMKSY”.

(a): Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY) was approved on 03.05.2017 with total outlay of Rs 6000 Crore and has recently been approved to be continued till 2025-26 with an outlay of Rs 4600 Crore. A total of 1088 projects have been approved since inception of its component schemes.

(b): PMKSY is not any region or state specific but demand driven and financial assistance is provided to the eligible applicants selected on the basis of Expression of Interest (EoI) issued from time to time under its component schemes. The number of Mega Food Parks, Agro Processing Clusters (Mini Food Parks), Integrated Cold Chains and Food Testing Laboratories completed under the PMKSY, which are located in the States of Bihar, Rajasthan, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra is placed at Annexure-I.

(c) to (e): Processing & preservation capacity created and estimated direct/indirect employment from the completed projects in the States of Bihar, Rajasthan, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra during 2021-22 is placed at Annexure – II.
