Question : NEW INTERNATIONAL SECTORS FOR AIR INDIA



(a) whether the Government proposes to open up new international routes under the bilateral Air Services Agreements for Air India and other airlines operating in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof, airport and route-wise;

(c) whether this move is likely to help these airlines to enhance their fiscal capacity; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): Grant of traffic rights to scheduled carriers including Air India is an ongoing process and depends on availability of bilateral rights and requests received from designated carriers based on their commercial judgment to operate on international routes.

(c) & (d): With the allocation of new rights, it is expected that the market share and revenue of Indian carriers will increase.
