(a) the amount allocated to States for construction and maintenance of National Highways during 2000-2001 and 2001-2002, State-wise;
(b) the amount released and actually utilized by each State till date for the purpose and the time by which the remaining funds are likely to be utilised, State-wise;
(c) the reasons for non-utilization of funds by each State Government; and
(d) the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) & (b) : Details of allocation of funds to States for construction and maintenance of National Highways during 2000-2001 as also the expenditure upto January 2001 is annexed. The amount released to the States is for the financial year 2000-2001. Since the demands for grants for 2001-2002 are yet to be approved by Parliament,it is not possible to indicate the State-wise allocation of funds.
