Question : EXPORT OF MINERALS



(a) the minerals especially from the State of Jharkhand which are presently being exported to other countries of the world;

(b) the Government and private sector companies involved in the exports of these minerals;

(c) whether the Government propose to take over the charge of exporting these minerals from the private mine owners / companies; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a)&(b): Sir, the major minerals and ores that are presently being exported from the country are iron ore, chrome ore, manganese ore, coal, mica and major processed minerals which include granite, marbles, etc. and exported by MMTC Ltd., NMDC Ltd., Manganese and Ore Ltd. (MOIL), Coal India Ltd. in the public sector and other State Government Enterprises and M/s. Rungta Mines Ltd., M/s. Essel Mining Ltd., M/s. Kaypee Enterprises, M/s. MSPL Ltd., M/s. Kariganur Mining & Minerals Ltd., M/s. Hothur Traders, M/s. Bharat Mining & Minerals Ltd. and other exporters under All India Granite & Stones Association and Confederation of Export Units in the private sector. However, from the State of Jharkhand, mainly iron ore and mica are being sourced by MMTC Ltd. for export in the public sector and M/s. Rungta Mines Ltd., in the private sector.

(c) & (d) There is no such proposal under consideration by the Government.
