Question : Restructuring of UGC

(a) whether the Government has accepted the recommendations of the Hari Gautam Committee report regarding the functioning of the University Grants Commission (UGC);
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has any proposal to amend the UGC Act for restructuring of UGC; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (d): The report submitted by the Hari Gautam Committee on the functioning of University Grants Commission (UGC) is being examined, in its entirety, in the Ministry, in consultation with the Niti Aayog.
