Question : Promotion of Gramodyog

(a) whether the Government proposes to create zones for promotion of Gramodyog in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof, zone-wise and State/UT-wise;

(c) whether more States are also proposed to be included in the said zones; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a)&(b): No, Madam. There is no proposal to create zones for promotion of Gramodyog in the Country. Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) implements various Khadi and Village Industries programmes all over the country through its State/Divisional/ Sub-Offices and zonal offices located at different places for providing employment opportunities in rural areas. The six zonal offices located at: (i) New Delhi (North Zone), (ii) Bhopal (Central Zone), (iii) Kolkata (East Zone), (iv) Guwahati (North-East Zone), (v) Bengaluru (South Zone) and (vi) Mumbai (West Zone). Zone-wise States are as given below:
