(a) to (d)Public Health being a State subject, the primary responsibility to provide AYUSH treatment facilities particularly in rural areas of the countrylies with the respective State/UT Governments. However, under Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM), there is provision of financial assistance for setting up of upto 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospitals, upgradation of standalone Government AYUSH hospitals & dispensaries, co-location of AYUSH facilities at Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs) and District Hospitals (DHs), AYUSH Health & Wellness Centres (AYUSH HWCs) for AYUSH treatment facilities including Ayurveda. During 2021-22, an amount of Rs. 552.802 Crore has been earmarked to States/UTs as per criteria of NAM guidelines. Further, grant-in-aid of Rs. 2761.73 Crore has been released from 2014-15 totill date for different activities of NAM as per the proposal received from State/UT Governments. The number of units approved as per the proposal reflected by the States/UTs in State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs), State/UT-wise is furnished at Annexure.
(e) Ministry of Ayush is implementingthe following Centrally Sponsored and Central Sector Schemesin the country under:
1. Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM).
2. Central Sector Scheme of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) in AYUSH.
3. Central Sector Scheme of Champion Sector.
4. Central Sector Scheme of AYURGYAN.
5. Central Sector Scheme of AYURSWASTHYA Yojana.
6. Central Sector Scheme of AYUSH OushadiGunvattaevumUttapadanYojana (AOGUSY).
7. Central Sector Scheme for Conservation Development and Sustainable Management of Medicinal Plants.
8. Central Sector Scheme for Promotion of International Co-operationin AYUSH.
(f) There is no proposal under consideration of the Ministry of AYUSH for setting up of All India Institute of Ayurveda modelled on the lines of AIIMS across the country.
