Question : Preservation of Heritage Sites of Dimasas

(a) whether Khaspur, the Kingdom of Cachari Rajas is in dilapidated condition and if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether the Government is considering to preserve the heritage site of Dimasas;

(c) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the Government in this regard;

(d) whether the Government has sent or planning to send an expert Team for Preservation and Planning of the heritage site of the Dimasas; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) No Sir. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) protected monuments of Cachari Rajas at Khaspur are in a good state of preservation.

(b) & (c) ASI has two protected monuments related to Dimasas, namely Cachari Ruins at Khaspur and Rock-cut Temple at Maibang. Conservation work at these monuments is attended regularly depending upon the need of repairs and availability of resources.

(d) & (e) Requisite experts are available in the field office of ASI to handle the essential conservation work of protected monuments including heritage sites of the Dimasas.
