(a) whether the Government proposes to allocate additional funds under national Rural Drinking Water Programme to Jharkhand by according it special status;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the number of villages proposed to be covered under the said scheme in the State particularly in Chatra region?

(b) Does not arise.
(c) The Ministry maintains data regarding drinking water supply in rural areas in terms of habitations and not in terms of villages. As per the information entered by the State Government of Jharkhand on the Integrated Management Information System (IMIS), the State, the target for coverage of habitations with drinking water supply in the year 2014-15 is 16532 habitations. The State has targeted to cover 672 habitations in the Chatra district in the year 2014-15.
