Question : Status of PMAY in Maharashtra

(a) the status of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban)in Maharashtra, particularly Bhandara and Gondia districts;

(b) the number of houses constructed in Maharashtra, particularly in Bhandara and Gondia districts under this Scheme;

(c) whether the Government has any plans to extend the given timeline for this scheme and if so, the details thereof; and

(d) the targets fixed for the State under the scheme, along with achievements made thereunder so far?

(a),(b)& d) Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), the States/UTs are required to undertake demand survey to assess the requirement of houses to be constructed under the Scheme. Based on such assessment, there is requirement of approximately 17.98 lakh houses in Maharashtra. Out of these, 11,77,084 houses have been sanctioned, 4,74,017 have been grounded and 2,78,233 have been completed. For Bhandara and Gondia Districts 2,831 and 3,781 houses were sanctioned, respectively, of which 1,464 and 949 have been grounded for construction, of which 290 and 150 have been completed.

(c) PMAY(U) Mission period is up to March, 2022. There is no proposal at present to extend the scheme.
