(a) whether the Government has received various proposals from the States including Andhra Pradesh seeking financial assistance under the various
schemes for Archival Repositories, Government Libraries and Museums; and
(b) if so, the details thereof and the action taken on such proposals so far,
State/UT-wise?

(a) Yes Madam, National Archives of India, is operating one scheme of Financial
Assistance for State/UT Archival Repositories, Government Libraries and
Museums.
(b) For the financial year 2012-2013, 12 proposals from State Govt. Institutions
were received including Andhra Pradesh State Archives and Research Institute,
Hyderabad, which were recommended by Grants Committee (details at Annexure ’A’).
Out of them, Grants were released to 6 Government institutions including Andhra Pradesh
State Archives and Research Institute, Hyderabad (details at Annexure (‘B’) Grants
could not be released to other 6 Government institutions as they did not submit
requisite papers.
