(a) to (c): (i) Government undertakes various measures like education, health, livelihood schemes for upliftment of the population including STs and PVTGs. Apart from these, Ministry of Tribal Affairs is implementing the scheme of ''Development of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs)'' specifically for all the 75 identified PVTGs among Scheduled Tribes in 18 States. List of PVYG is at Annexure I.
(ii) The scheme of Development of PVTG'' aims at socio-economic development of PVTGs in a comprehensive manner, while retaining their culture and heritage. The financial assistance is provided to the States/UT under the scheme for activities like
• education,
• housing,
• agricultural development,
• animal husbandry,
• construction of link roads,
• installation of non-conventional sources of energy for lighting purpose,
• social security
• any other innovative activity meant forthe comprehensive development of PVTGs.
(iii) In order to ensure effectiveness of the Scheme, following is done:
• State Governments have been given the flexibility of utilizing the funds using the gaps identified through Base Line Survey.
• Emphasis is being given on Micro planning.
• Emphasis in the Comprehensive cum Development (CCD) is for preserving traditional architecture, traditional medical practices and cuisine and maintaining the heritage and culture of PVTGs.
• The physical progress of works approved under the scheme is monitored regularly
(iv)The activities approved under the Scheme in the current financial year are given in Annexure II.
(v) Impact assessment is part of the regular review of schemes of the Government and also research projects undertaken by MoTA.
