(a) whether the enrolment of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward
Classes students particularly of women has increased in the colleges; and
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the percentage of increase witnessed during
the last three years, State-wise, year-wise?

(a) As per the annual publication “Statistics of Higher and Technical Educationâ€,
brought out by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the gender-wise number
of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students enrolled in higher
education in the country during 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2009-10(Provisional) is given below:-
