(a) whether the Government propose to set up Information Technology Park and Centres in the country;
(b) if so, locations identified therefor State-wise and the criteria fixed therefor;
(c) whether the Government propose to set up an Information Technology Centre in Bihar;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) if not, the reasons therefor and the measures being taken to promote information technology in the State?

(b),(c) and (d): Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) has
set-up Software Technology Parks in the following States:
State LocationThe Government of West Bengal and Goa have also set up STPs in their states. In the case of STP at Goa the Central Government has provided part financial support. It is to proposed to extend Software Technology Park (STP) facility to all the states in the country subject to technical, administrative and financial constraints. The site for STP is selected generally taking into account potential for Software export, support by the State Government in terms of fiscal measures, friendly policy environment, provision of land and building and availability of funds.
