(a) whether the Government has introduced any schemes in order to establish small scale enterprises to provide an alternate livelihood to farmers suffering from drought and water scarcity in the country including the State of Tamil Nadu;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the number of such enterprises set up in Tamil Nadu during the last three years and the current year?

(a) to (c) The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) is implementing Prime Minister''s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), aimed at generating self-employment opportunities through establishment of micro-enterprises in the non-farm sector by helping traditional artisans and rural/urban unemployed youth.
