Question : GRANTS UNDER NRHM



(a) whether some of the States are not releasing the required grants for various projects under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) since its implementation;

(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise; and

(c) the action taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) No. Under the National Rural Health Mission [NRHM], Government of India receives Annual Programme Implementation Plans [PIPs] from the States/UTs and the same are examined and approved by the National Programme Coordination Committee in the Ministry. The funds are released after due appraisal and approval to the State Health Societies. Further, the States/UTs releases the funds to the Districts and the Districts to the Blocks to implement the activities of the Annual Work Plan, which is based on resource availability and prioritization exercise.
