(a) whether the India International Skill Centres (IISCs) to promote skill trainings and certification have been operationalized;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Ministry is interested in setting up International Skill Centre in Assam;
(d) if so, the status of the same and the road map to achieve the objectives; and
(e) whether such centre will be set up in other States and if so, the details thereof?
(a) to (e) As on date 14 India International Skill Centre (IISC) are operational, the details of which are at Annexure I. At the moment there are no IISC in Assam. IISCs are being setup across India based on market demand and migration patterns for each State. Location and sectoral focus analysis data from the Ministry of External Affairs is being used for deciding the locations of future IISCs.
