Question : SUNREF Green Housing Programme

(a) the details of the progress achieved in SUNREF Green Housing Programme as conceived by the National Housing Bank (NHB) along with the EU and French Development Agency;

(b) the details of funds sanctioned and utilized under the programme so far;

(c) whether the Government is contemplating to utilize investment in green solutions in existing housing schemes of Andhra Pradesh; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d):The French development Agency, AgenceFrançaise de Développement, launched the Sustainable Use of Natural Resources and Energy Finance (SUNREF) Green Housing India programme in August 2017 in partnership with National Housing Bank (NHB) and with support from the European Union. The SUNREF Green Housing India aims to scale up green and affordable housing projects in India.

The Programme aims at reducing the negative impact on environment of the growth of the housing industry in the country by supporting the development of green affordable housing.

National Housing Bank (NHB) has informed that, an amount of ?540.36 Crore out of ?811.50 Crore has been disbursed under the programme till date. Further, NHB has conducted various workshops/programmes for stakeholders under capacity development initiative to promote green housing in the country.

In the state of Andhra Pradesh, an amount of ?9.37 Crore has been disbursed under this programme to Primary Lending Institutions in respect of their lending to individuals for purchase/construction of green housing units.
