Question : DILAPIDATED GOVERNMENT QUARTERS



(a) the number of Government Quarters in dilapidated conditions and declared as dangerous by the CPWD in Delhi and New Delhi areas during each of the last two years and the current year along with the reasons therefor;

(b) whether the allottees have been given alternative accommodations as a result thereof;

(c) if so, the details thereof, pool-wise;

(d) whether these quarters have been allotted to other allottees without making it habitable;

(e) if so, the reasons therefor; and

(f) the time by which these quarters would be made habitable?

(a) & (b): The CPWD has informed that 80, 73 and 58 Government quarters were declared dangerous during the year 2010-11, 2011-12 and the current year respectively. The concerned quarters were declared dangerous, because they were in dilapidated condition and hence unfit for habitation.

(c): Yes, Sir. The alternative accommodation is provided by Directorate of Estates after receiving the report of the CPWD.

(d) & (e): No, Sir. The Government quarters declared as unfit are not allotted.

(f) : A time period of 6 to 12 months is taken for repair/renovation of the concerned government quarters by the CPWD.
