(a) whether the revised Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) has been approved;
(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the time by which it is likely to be approved and implemented;
(c) whether an ITIR proposal of Government of Odisha is pending with the Union Government;
(d) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor; and
(e) the time by which this proposal alongwith proposals from other States are likely to be cleared?
(a) and (b): Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) Policy Resolution, 2008 was notified in the year 2008. To overcome the problem faced in implementing the policy, a note for amendment in the ITIR Policy Resolution, 2008 has been submitted for approval of Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA).
(c), (d) and (e): Government of Odisha has submitted a proposal for setting up ITIR in Bhubaneswar. As per the proposal received from Government of Odisha, the ITIR will be set up over an area of 41.32 sq.km. near Bhubaneswar and is expected to have an investment of Rs.16,043 crore upto year 2030. The ITIR is expected to generate direct employment of 2.37 lakh.
After the approval of amendment in the ITIR Policy Resolution, 2008, the proposal of Government of Odisha to set up ITIR in Bhubaneswar will be submitted for consideration of Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA).
