T R Baalu approves National Highway improvement works in Tamil Nadu

The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Thiru T. R. Baalu has approved road improvement works on National Highway sections in the State of Tamil Nadu at a total cost of Rs. 380.77 lakh.

Approval has been granted for improvement of Stretches of NH-49 (Madurai – Ramanathapuram Road) from Kms 100/0 to 113/6 at a total cost of Rs. 351.51 lakh under the Improvement of Riding Quality Programme (IRQP).

An amount of Rs. 29.26 Lakh has also been approved for the reconstruction of Retaining Walls at Km 252/10, 253/10 and damaged Retaining Wall in between Km 244/6 and 255/0 of NH-209 in the Dhimbham Ghat Section. The Retaining Walls in these Sections have got badly damaged due to incessant rains and increase in traffic. To ensure safe movement of traffic, the repairs of these walls have been approved.
