Naturopathy Hospitals in Tribal Areas

As public health is a State subject, setting up Naturopathy Hospitals in the backward tribal areas in the country comes under the purview of respective State/UT Governments. As such the Ministry of AYUSH does not maintain State/UT wise data of Naturopathy hospitals operational in the country.

However, National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), Pune an autonomous Institute under Ministry of AYUSH has started a Naturopathy Clinic in Tribal Area of Pune Dist. at Gohe (Bk), Ambegaon for the welfare of the tribal people with particular emphasis on Yoga and Naturopathy with a 20 beds capacity.

The above tribal unit will act as training centre for the tribal youth to incorporate the skills of Naturopathy and Yoga into their health practices. NIN in association with Shabari Tribal Finance, Govt. of Maharashtra is offering free training to Tribal youths on Treatment Assistant Training Course (TATC).

The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), New Delhi an autonomous body of Ministry of AYUSH has been executing a “Tribal Health Care Research programme (THCRP)” in 15 States through 15 CCRAS institutes under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) the list of the same is given at annexure.

Under this programme, the Council is generating awareness about health wellness, and prevention of diseases among the tribal population besides extending medical aid at their door steps. The council also collect information on folk medicines/ Local Health Traditional (LHT) practices prevalent in the tribal area.

NIN in association with Shabari Tribal Finance, Govt. of Maharashtra is offering free training to Tribal youths to deliver Naturopathy treatments.
