CCRAS is conducting Various Research Oriented Health Programmes: AYUSH Minister

The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), an autonomous body under the Ministry of AYUSH is conducting the various research oriented health programs i.e. Swastha Rakshan Program (SRP), Ayurveda mobile health care programme under the Schedule Caste Sub Plan (SCSP) and Tribal Health Care Research Programme (THCRP) through its 25 centres across the country to collect and document demographic information along with their other issues. The various information collected during these programs is published by the council from time to time in the form of monographs and research papers. The details of the same are published in THCRP Assam (2002-2008) monograph and THCRP Andaman and Nicobar Islands (2002-2008) monograph.

The disease prevalence and incidence is being documented by CCRAS through various research oriented health programmes and published from time to time. Further, Council has critically analyzed the information documented at peripheral institutes regarding attendance of the patients with different diseases and analyzed the data of 62 lakh patients across 20 years and published the information in the form of monograph.

CCRAS is delivering the concept of pathya and apathya for the propagation and extension of health care services through Information, Education and Communication (IEC) and verbal communications during various programmes such as SRP, THCRP, SCSP and regular OPDs of the institutes.

This information was given by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik in written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
