The Ministry of Rural Development has released Rs. 11.64 crore under Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) to 13 Zilla Parishads of Karnataka as the second instalment of Central assistance for the year 2006-07. Rs. 20.56 crore has already been released as the first instalment. The details of the funds released are as under:

The grant is towards the Plan expenditure and will be utilized for construction of new houses/upgradation of kutcha houses into pucca houses, subject to the conditions laid down in the guidelines under the IAY. The expenditure on the implementation of the programme is to be shared on 75:25 basis between the Centre and the State respectively. The State Government is to release its share within a month of the date of release of the Central assistance.
